This week on Talking Threads we meet Linda Miller, an extremely talented free machine embroiderer. Her whimsical stitched pictures capture endearing rosy-cheeked characters and animals, all of which encourage the viewer to dream up the stories behind them.

Linda's work is exhibited throughout the world. The Victoria and Albert Museum have recognised Linda's talent and hold one of her pieces within their permanent textile collection.

A book entitled Creative Machine Embroidery, written by Linda is due for publication in September 2010. Published by A and C Black.

In this week's Talking Threads workshop Linda teaches us how to make a beautiful machine embroidered brooch, the perfect gift for a loved one or a treasured keepsake of your own!
